Tuxedo Road
I Had Heard Some Crazy Stories
Allegedly, BrightHouse CEO Joey Reiman once flew a monkey first class to a client meeting and secured her spot in the VIP lounge by pretending she was a service animal. He also proposed to his reporter wife by staging a drug bust with the police. And he wore a tuxedo for a month when he moved to Tuxedo Road in Buckhead Atlanta. I was a few weeks into my new job when Joey invited everyone to his home on Tuxedo Road to celebrate the company’s birthday. I had no idea what to expect, or for that matter, what to wear.
ONE LOOK AT THE INVITATION
And I knew this soirée called for a tuxedo, just like the one Joey had worn when he moved in years ago. But would spoofing his housewarming attire be an icebreaker or a deal breaker? I was willing to find out.
THE COSTUME RAISED A FEW EYEBROWS
But Joey laughed and said he’d forgotten all about it. I continued to wear this costume to every company birthday party on Tuxedo Road — I was dressed for the address, so why mess with success?
